Located in Fulton County, Alpharetta is a lively Southern city home to a little over 63,038. Just 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, Alpharetta offers locals a wonderful place to “live, work, and visit.” The Downtown Alpharetta Historic District is right in the heart of Alpharetta and filled with a number of historic buildings dating past the late 19th century. Some of the must see and do events are the Food Truck Alley running throughout October, the Taste of Alpharetta which is an annual food festival with food from local restaurants, music and art displays as well as the Wire and Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival held in downtown Alpharetta. Other citywide activities include the Scarecrow Harvest, Christmas Tree Lighting, Restless in Resthaven, Old Soldier’s Day, Mayor’s Corporate Challenge, 4th of July, Alpharetta Arts Streetfest, European Market, Grilling & Gridiron, IronKids, Touch A Truck, Memorial Day and the Easter Eggstravaganza.
Also located in Alpharetta is the North Point Mall, the Alpharetta Family Skate Center which is home to the Atlanta Sparks special needs hockey team, Avalon, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park and the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway. The Greenway offers a place to enjoy the outdoors while taking advantage of the concrete path alongside Big Creek for walking, jogging and biking. Two Alpharetta Arboretums are another attraction for residents to use, one is located at Wills Park with 26 trees and the other at Cogburn Road Park which has seven trees. There is no shortage of fun with 15 vastly different parks available to the locals. Facilities include swimming pools, sporting fields and courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, dog parks, equestrian centers and much more!
