Situated just 15 miles northeast of Atlanta, Chamblee was recently named by Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the 2017 hot real estate spots in metro Atlanta. Summertime events include the Fourth of July with the best fireworks around, live music and food! From May throughout August the city hosts the Summer Concert Series which is fun for all ages. Last but not least are the Fall community activities including the Atlanta Warbird Weekend happening in September as well as the Taste of Chamblee and the Halloween Spooktacular occurring in October.
Served by the DeKalb County School System, Chamblee provides residents with a number of schooling options. There are five public elementary schools and two public middle schools in the area. Chamblee Charter High School, Cross Keys High School and Henderson High School are all three public high schools for Chamblee students to attend. St. Pius X High School is also the only private school in the city. Also located in Chamblee are six parks open to residents looking to enjoy and explore the wonderful outdoors. City Hall Park, Clairmont Park, Dresden Park, Huntley Hills Park, Shallowford Park and Village Park each offer different outdoor amenities. Some of the park's features include walking trails, pavilions/picnic areas, playgrounds and sports fields. Dedicated to keeping the parks greener and cleaner, Chamblee implemented the nonprofit Keep Chamblee Beautiful into the community.
